Understanding Your Medicare Options
Medicare can feel complicated — but it doesn't have to be. We'll walk you through every option and help you find the plan that fits your health needs and budget.
What Is Medicare?
Medicare is the federal health insurance program for people 65 or older, as well as certain younger people with disabilities. It's divided into parts, each covering different types of healthcare services.
Navigating Medicare alone can be overwhelming — there are dozens of plan options, coverage rules, and enrollment windows to understand. That's where Korthase Insurance comes in. We compare plans from 20+ carriers at no cost to you, so you can make a confident, informed decision.
Medicare Advantage
All-in-one coverage with extra benefits
Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. They bundle your Original Medicare (Parts A & B) coverage into a single plan — and most include prescription drug coverage (Part D) as well.
Medicare Supplement
Predictable costs, maximum flexibility
Medicare Supplement plans (also called Medigap) work alongside Original Medicare to help cover the out-of-pocket costs Medicare doesn't pay — like copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. You keep your Original Medicare and add a Supplement plan on top.
Medicare Part D
Prescription drug coverage that saves you money
Medicare Part D plans provide coverage for prescription medications. These plans are offered by private insurers and vary in which drugs they cover (their formulary) and how much you pay. Choosing the wrong plan can mean paying far more than necessary for your medications.
